Dr Amanda Hale

Amanda graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Psychology with First Class Honours, before completing a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the Australian National University under an Australian Postgraduate Award (APA) scholarship. Amanda enjoys working with children, adolescents, young adults and families and has experience with a wide range of presentations.
She is trained in multiple evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Schema Therapy, Motivational Enhancement Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness and Attachment-Based Approaches.
Amanda has worked in the Greater Southern Area Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service, the Children’s Hospital at Westmead and in child and adult inpatient units and outpatient clinics. She has also worked in private practice at Killara and Bondi Junction.
Amanda is passionate about providing people with the tools to improve psychological flexibility and resilience, developing skills to manage difficult thoughts and feelings so that they have less impact over them, and helping them create and live an engaged, meaningful and fulfilling life.
Above all, her approach is client-centred. She prioritises building rapport and a strong therapeutic relationship. She sees patients as “stuck” not broken, and her therapy as a way of developing skills to help people get moving again and in a direction that is consistent with their values and goals”
Amanda is registered with APHRA and is a full member of the APS.
