Dr Peter Campbell

Dr Campbell’s primary interest is in newborn and infant growth and development and preventative care.

Dr Campbell worked as a senior consultant at The Royal Hospital for Women in 1986–2003 and created the newborn team at Prince of Wales Private Hospital. From 2003 he continued as Honorary Fellow and from 2012 as Emeritus Medical Officer and has been involved in low risk deliveries.

He participated in research in the original SURVANTA (Surfactant Replacement Trials in Premature Newborns with Respiratory Distress Syndrome) study, which was published in the PEDIATRICS journal in 1986.

Dr Peter Campbell completed his studies with honours and graduated in medicine in 1976. He trained in Paediatrics at the Childrens Hospital at Randwick (SCH) and completed his neonatal fellowship at the University of Vermont College of Medicine, USA.
